West Coast and the Cedar Mountains

Enjoy the diverse beauty of a Western Cape tour.

Discover the West Coast and the Cedar Mountains with our professional tour guides in an air-conditioned mini-bus. We start the Western Cape Tour by driving up the coast through the unique West Coast National Park, with its endless vistas of coastal fynbos (indigenous shrubs) and the huge blue expanse of Langebaan Lagoon.

Enjoy Lambert’s Bay, a typical West Coast fishing village. A short walk is rewarded with a magnificent view of Bird Island, home to thousands of Cape gannets, cormorants and the rare African penguin. We stay the night at Lambert’s Bay Hotel or similar.

The next morning, we set off in the tracks of the San Bushmen, marvelling at their ancient rock paintings in the caves of the Cederberg Mountains. Next we visit the private Kagga Kamma Game Reserve where you will discover more about the Khoi San people and their way of life.

Enjoy a sundowner tour to the Canyon to watch the sun set, before returning to the lodge for dinner in this spectacular part of the world. We stay the night at Kagga Kamma Private Game Reserve or similar.

Depart on an early morning game drive, then go on a culture tour to discover more about the Bushmen and their rock art paintings. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure or undertake one of the many scenic hiking trails available. After dinner, enjoy an evening spotlight game drive before retiring for another night at the Kagga Kamma Private GameReserve or similar.

On the last day, we return to Cape Town via Ceres, one of South Africa’s largest deciduous fruit and vegetable producing districts. We continue to Worcester in the Western Cape winelands, the biggest wine producing region in South Africa, for a brandy tasting at KWV Cellar, the largest of its kind in the world.

Our journey then takes us over the Du Toit’s Kloof Pass back to Cape Town, arriving late afternoon.

Departures of this West Coast Cedar Mountains Tour are on Sundays.
